From description, the issue happens when the user tries to may changes in SharePoint and personal OneDrive documents from the local OneDrive sync folder on Mac. (If I misunderstand anything, experience gratis to right me)
The issue may exist related to Office cache, you may let the user try steps below:
i.Firstly shut all Role apps.
ii.Open up Finder, press Command+Shift+g, in the window that opens, enter ~/Library/Containers
in the Containers binder, motility these folders to Desktop:
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
3.Open a document from OneDrive sync folder and edit it to cheque the outcome.

Hi Jim, We ruled out the internet connection issue as it occurs when the user is at the part likewise where we have at least to a higher place 50mbps download and upload speed.

Hello Tina,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We did remove office enshroud few days ago unfortunately information technology didn't aid. It happens randomly with different documents and the user doesn't use online portal. Hither is how the mistake bulletin looks like.

Thank you for sharing the detailed information.
As only i user is having the issue, to check if it'southward an issue happening in a specific Mac user profile, yous may let the user try to switch to another account and so log in Mac, then get to check if fault message still appears when he opens documents.
Prepare upward users, guests and groups on Mac
